Sharon Kwon

Program Director

Sharon Kwon is Program Director of the Korean American Institute, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to produce insightful and actionable research to improve policy making on issues facing Korean Americans.

Sharon has a wide range of experiences working in the public sectors.  In government, she has held a presidential appointment as a policy advisor within the Office of Personnel Management and was a legislative fellow on the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and Labor.  She also has worked in various positions on many local, state, and national political campaigns.

Her private sector experience includes managing programs with a think tank organization, supporting a corporate executive, and providing translation and language instructions to English, Korean, and Mandarin speakers.

Originally from Connecticut, Sharon has a B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of Connecticut, and an M.A. in International Law and Global Security with a certificate in Asian Studies from Georgetown University.
